“A hearty thank you from myself and on behalf of my colleagues who use the site regularly. Our professors recommended it during law school . . .”
“A pretty amazing and FREE web site for statutory research . . . When you visit the site . . . you are immediately struck by the simple, but well-thought out features.”
“It's fast, has a great search facility, and handily outclasses the state legislature's own site”
“OregonLaws.org has a clean and clear design and a number of neat features . . .”
“. . . before Shecter's work, no source offered easy, free search functionality to anyone looking for information about Oregon's laws.”
In some ORS sections, the legislature has left some outline levels empty.
For example, the original source text of ORS 166.274 reads, in part:
(3) A person may apply [...]
(4)(a) A person petitioning for relief [...]
Here, (3), (4), and (4)(a) are all outline levels, but (4) was intentionally left blank by its authors. And so, when OregonLaws displays sections like this, we add a button to indicate that the blank outline level isn't a mistake. We hope this is the clearest way to present the text.
